Hungary Student Visa Info for Bangladeshi Students
Once you have an acceptance letter from a Hungarian university, the next step is applying for a long-term (D-type) national visa for study purposes. Here is what Bangladeshi students need to know.
Who needs a D-type visa
Bangladeshi citizens accepted onto a full-time program (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD) at a Hungarian university that runs longer than 90 days must apply for a D-type national visa before travelling, as Bangladesh does not have visa-free access to the Schengen area.
Documents typically required
- Valid passport (minimum validity covering your intended stay, with blank pages)
- University acceptance/admission letter
- Proof of tuition payment or scholarship award letter (e.g. Stipendium Hungaricum)
- Proof of accommodation in Hungary
- Proof of sufficient financial means for the duration of study
- Valid travel/health insurance covering Hungary
- Completed visa application form
- Passport-size photographs (as per embassy specification)
- Academic transcripts and certificates used in your application
Where to apply
Applications are submitted at the Hungarian embassy or consulate (or an authorized visa application center) responsible for Bangladesh. We help you confirm the current submission process, book your appointment, and prepare a complete, embassy-ready document set.
Processing time
Processing times vary by intake and embassy workload, so we recommend applying as early as possible after receiving your acceptance letter. We track your deadline and keep your application on schedule.
After your visa is approved
Once your visa is issued, we help you plan your flight, finalize accommodation, and prepare for arrival — including airport pickup and drop-off to your accommodation in Hungary.
